The
icon of the Mother of God “Seven Arrows |
On June, 12 in the context of His Eminence Varsanofiy’s,
the Archbishop of Saransk and Mordovia fiftieth birthday
celebrations the Macarovka monastery was visited by
Vladiko Kirill, the Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad.
He was accompanied by Prokl, the Archbishop of Simbirsk
and Melekessk; Savva, the Bishop of Krasnogorsk; Tikhon,
the Bishop of Vidno; Panteleymon, the Bishop of Vassilkov;
the vicar of the Kiyev Metropolia; the Fathers superiors
of monasteries and the Mothers superiors of nun’ curvets
and many other clergy representatives from different
Eparchies of the Russian Federation. The Great Shrines
of Russian Church – the icons of the Mother of God
“Seven Arrows” and the icon of the Mother of God Tolgskaya
were delivered to Macarovka from the Tolgsk nuns’
curvet the day before. Besides, a particle of Lord’s
raiment was also delivered.

The dear guest headed the All-Night Vigil service
in the Cathedral of the Apostle and Evangelist John
the Theologian and offered up prayers together with
other clergy people and parishioners at the Throne
of the Mother of God and kissed the Shrines.
After the service was over Vladiko Kirill made
a greeting speech to all people who gathered in

he, His Eminence Varsanofiy and other guests of
high ranks went to the meeting with Head of the
Republic of Mordovia N. Merkushin in the summer
residence of the Archbishop.
The Shrines delivered to the monastery to the event,
the visit of the Metropolitan Kirill and the guests
had a kind influence upon the brethren of the monastery,
parishioners and all devout people who were present
in the monastery .
